Our WOD today... In a five man group, 2001 m row altogether. Then 9 rounds of 11 wallballs, burpees, box jumps, deadlifts, and situps! Finish off with another 2001. I thought of the 9/11 victims and survivors various times when I wanted to quit.
I am the parent volunteer at the kids school for magazines this year. I was able to crossfit every day but wednesday last week. Not enough time to blog though. Our coach was climbing Mt. Ranier all week too. He made it along with a member of WCCF.
I have lost one and a half pounds since 8/30. Hoping for the next pound gone this coming week!
This blog is mainly for me to finally keep up with my WODs with World Camp Crossfit and my diet. I should have been doing this all along, but better late than never! Hoping for many successes and lots of people to chat with about how Crossfit has changed lives! I welcome any help you might could give me.

Labor Day Weekend
Friday's WOD finished with 100 situps. I can't remember what the WOD was though.
Saturday , I ran three miles.
Sunday, I ate, drank, and was merry!
Monday... Push press and deadlifts. Then Diane. I used 95 lbs and finished over 7 minutes, but not sure what.
Labor Day at the lake was about the best one in a while. Family functions sometimes suck. My Dad turned 65. When I am not exhausted, I will update my food and drink.

Thursday
Yesterday's food totalled 1175 calories, so my workout paid for it this morning. Today, I have had yogurt, steak and black bean quesadilla, a few chips (oops), cashews, and deli ham around a cheesestick. Around 1500.
Our mechanic time was on the muscle up.
Our WOD
3 Rounds
30 Front Squats (35 for me/65 RX)
30 Ring Dips ( I used a box)
400m run
25:00 time.
Trying to gear up for a Labor Day weekend to not have a blowout holiday weekend. Also nervous about what I want (and am) going to committ to.

Wannabees piss me off!
Sled work then
Our WOD was named Cardio Gone Bad.
Set up like Fight Gone Bad.
The stations were
Row
Double Unders
Mountain Climbers
Burpees
Sprint 25m
We were told to go at 100% and not worry about counting. I began with rowing , so having those few extra seconds I was able to row 12 calories instead of the 10 or 11 that I usually do in FGB. Can't do doubleunders yet. Pretty efficient on singles. Sucked at mountain climbers and didn't eake out too many burpees. My sprinting at 25m is better than to the curb and back. It was nice that I ended with the sprints. I couldn't imagine rowing after the sprinting.
After wod, I learned that several people around town are badmouthing Crossfit. We are all used to the "your going to get hurt" or "I heard someone hurt thier back", but everytime the "he said, she said" starts it pisses me off all over. Mainly from a gal in town that personal trains on her own. Jealous that people are leaving for something that will actually work. Not to mention, she is walking around with a leg brace on from an injury she got playing football with her kid in the yard. I guess if she had been coming to WCCF, she could blame it on Crossfit. Wannabes piss me off! And, wannabes that say crossfit is bad really piss me off!

Wednesday Willies!
Every Wednesday, I wake up a little nervous! Our Wednesdays at the box are the hell day. Usually when the Filthy 50, 300, FGB, 70/60/50/40/30/20/10, etc. happen. Coach does not post our wods before hand, so there is always the WTH feeling waking up and walking into it. We haven't done pullups in the past 5 wods, so I am sure whatever the wod is, it will include that.
I behaved last night, staying away from all beer and wine and eating Zone all day. Slept from 10 to 6! Woo hoo! If I would only do that every day. I am (I hope, I hope, I hope) after this Labor Day weekend.
Yesterday, I put on my first 8 skirt on in many, many years! I couldn't wear it in public. It flattened my still large ass almost making it the size of my son's bike's wheel. The seams might split open if I sit down bouncing that large ass out too! But I got in it! Also, got in a jean skirt my sister gave me from Banana Republic size 8. Ass looked the same, and I broke a sweat getting it off. Wonder if by the end of September, I could be in these without looking like the flat bike tire ass. That is my goal for now.
My coach and a fellow athlete are going to hike Mt Ranier! They leave Saturday for Washington state. He should be putting a World Camp CrossFit flag on top Wednesday. Super proud of them! The athlete was training one day with a snorkel in his mouth rowing. I had wanted to ask Coach WTH, but then I didn't know if this was another Crossfit thing I didn't know about. After hearing that Warren was hiking the mountain, I felt relieved.
Off to eat my yogurt and take vitamins and fish oil. The fish oil makes me taste fish throughout my workouts. Just started back on that on Monday, so I am hoping it will stop. If not, I will have to stop the fish oil. Another random thought too, if it weren't for my yogurt for breakfast and the cheesestick with my deli meet wrapped around it for most of my lunchs, I might could try Paleo. I am going to have to Zone for the next couple of month, and read lots of people that made the switch to get inspired.
Our news just announced that we have had the hottest summer (avg temp of J, J, and A of 86.8) since 1902. It is the first summer I have exercised throughout the summer. I knew it was hot on that asphalt just didn't know it was the hottest. I had gotten a little down about how slow I was doing some of the wods, but now I am hoping that the heat played into that. How I wish I had logged my wods earlier.

Monday, August 30th
I decided that I am hoping no one from my hometown or here finds this blog. Just logged my weight journey this past year on the side. I am hoping that this Monday is different than all the other summer Mondays. Back to healthy living, in hopes of another month like I had from mid Jan to mid Feb. Kick start me!
Our strength today was deadlifts again. 3 3 3 1. Was able to do the 135, 145 again. Heavy! Tried 155, but it wouldn't budge. We also worked on SDHPs. 3 3 3 1. Did 35, 45,55, and 65 for one. We also did a minute of SDHP, to prepare for Fight Gone Bad V. I used 45 and got 20 in. Will try a little heavier next time, maybe.
"OH MY BACK" WOD
20 min AMRAP
10 SDHP
Curb and Back
10 Kettlebell
Curb and Back
5 rounds for me at 45lb and 30lb KB.

Weekend food and exercise log.
Friday morning I decided instead of the typical last weekend before I get serious, just do good this weekend. Calorie wise I did good on Friday, but not at all the calories I needed to intake. No breakfast. Our workout made me sick to my stomach. Our WOD was 200 situps with 5 hatemakers on the minute. It took me the entire time. Actually, I had to do my last 7 situps after time was called. Deli ham 3oz, 1 oz cheesestick, mandarin oranges, and 10 cashews. For supper I had a small leftover pc of my hubby's greek pizza and four beers. Well, it was Friday night!
Saturday... I had 4oz steak for bfast and 4 more for lunch. Our Saturday workout was a deadlift ladder. In groups of 4, each person had to complete 30 wall balls. Then there were 4 stations. Sdhp kettlebell, box jumps, pushups and pushpress. 30 of each. Then 30 deadlifts each. Ended with a 200 m sprint. WCCF has free Saturdays to the public. It has taken off! There are about 40 people there now. The three girls that were in my group were all new. I would have done a 95 lb deadlift ladder and the 30, but did 65 with them. 15 in box, 25 KB, and 35/25 pushpress. Supper was spent celebrating Adrienne's birthday. A very best friend of mine. I probably had three wines and two beers. Hamburger patty (no bun, yay me), corn on the cob, and brocilli salad. I skipped the pecan pie that I made. Wow, that was hard! It was beautiful, and yummy as I was told.
Sunday, I made a two egg omelete with sauted mushrooms, peppers (from our garden), and onions. A hamburger patty and brocilli salad for lunch. Two slices of a frozen pizza for supper. No exercise. I have got to lay off the beer and pizza!
I am really hoping for a great week. Friday we are off to a visit at my parent's lake house. Perfection till then would be nice.

The beginning of my Crossfit experience...
I have been wanting to log my WODs for a few months now, and my laziness has won out on that. Now is the time to begin. I wanted to blog the beginning of my crossfit days.
I started CrossFit on October 23, 2009. Back then, I didn't know that that date would forever be remembered by me. Kris, my coach, only had Monday Wednesday Friday 10am classes then. I had signed up through November. I had two best friends that would talk about Crossfit and Kris. Then another friend had joined. I saw them change. Not only on the outside, but more their attitude. I finally decided I had to try. If I threw up, they would be there. I didn't throw up, but it kicked my ass. I cried because I was hurting, hypervenalating, fat, and weak. Kris had to walk with me on the 200 m run bc when you get upset while hypervenalating... it equals BAD. That was one of the lows of my life. I felt like I was the biggest loser. I zoned out lots in the beginning. I don't remember which workouts we did, or even cared what the name of them were. My 36th birthday was November 17th. I remember Kris announcing for my birthday we would do Filthy 50 (which the first time for me was 25). I almost ran out to never come back. I felt like I was getting worse, not better. I only had two more weeks of that crap and I was done with Crossfit. Later that day when meeting for my birthday lunch, I unwrapped from three of my girlfriends gift certificates. Gift certificates to WCCF for the month of December. WTF!!! I wanted a pedicure, a candle, and a necklace.
So, I am in it now for another month. I really don't remember much about December either. Just more of the same feelings of weak and fat. The 12 days of Christmas workout is the only one that sticks in my head. It sucked the worse, I guess. I had not lost a pound in almost two months of hell, and I was pissed. I went to the store to buy something to wear when I went home for Christmas, and it was a size smaller, shazam! It was nice to get a few compliments at home, and even nicer that my Crossfit experience was about to be in the history books with me in a smaller size. I was going to be heading back to my regular gym. That gym didn't make me feel weak and like a loser. I could do that stuff! Ready to be back to that. They had a fat attack class on Tuesday and Thursday, and were starting a circuit traing on M W F in January. I had been doing the Fat Attack since August.
January 4th, I started back at my gym. It was more my speed... I could do it. By the third class of the circuit training, I was almost falling asleep IN CLASS. Damn Crossfit! I was back at WCCF on the 11th. After not drinking the koolaid for one short, I missed it. When you are weak and overweight, you are suppose to be pushed to the point. Be better than yesterday! Time to quit being spaced out, get my head into the game!
Kris started a 30 day challenge. I was told about the Zone and Paleo diets, weighed, photographed, and told to commit to 30 days. During the challenge, we did the Filthy 50 again. It took me the same amount of time (over 40 minutes, not sure on the min and sec), but I did 50 not the 25. At the end of the challenge, I had stuck to the Zone diet (85% of the month) while counting calories. Journaling this showed me I ate an average of 1275 calories a day. Ran 14 miles and walked 10 miles. I went to 24 Crossfit classes. I lost 8 pounds and about 6% body fat. Just typing that makes me hope that by doing this blog, I will get back to zone and my journal. My journal was very spotty from then until now.
We had another Spring Leaning challenge in April and May. I lost another 6 pounds and 3 more percent body fat. I have lost 23 pounds since the last October, and finally are feeling muscles. I see a couple of them too. If I would shut my trap and loose the last 20, I think I wouldn't know whose body I was in. I had lost a total of 30 pounds at the end of May, but summer took away 7 of that loss. I continued my exercise through the summer, but my eating went through the roof. Ten days after school started, I finally started eating better. Have had three days of a diet and I am ill! I know the only way to knock it out is to keep track. So, here I am putting it in a blog. I have enjoyed other crossfitters blogs, so maybe someone will enjoy mine.
On another note about my progress. About a month ago, I finally started feeling like I was getting somewhere. Another reason I wish I had written down my WODs. After the movement, I am going to type what I told Kris in my email trying to win a 3 month membership to WCCF on December 31st. What I can remember doing in the very beginning ...
PULLUPS> were put on toddlers>>> I started out on the rings for my pullups because I couldn't even do the gray band. I did that for two or three months. Kris put me back in the gray band which I still couldn't do. This again was one of the lowest points for me. I was in the gray band, Kris told me to pull up, I tried, and didnt move an inch. I was so embarassed! Still feel a little funny about it now. I am embarrassed for myself. Probably due to him tired of seeing me on the rings, I was then doing jumping pullups. That was another month or so. Around April a green band was given to me. I could do it! The other day on our work on your weakness, I grabbed a blue and purple band. I was able to do about 5 of them. I need to quit the green, maybe next time!
PUSHUPS> were an orange ice cream treat>>> Still suck at these. Pisses me off too! I am sure I have gotten better, but doesn't seem like it to me. Still on knees and tire after about 7. Slow as molasses too!
KETTLEBELLS> were something rang at Mississippi State football games>>> In my Fat Attack classes at my other gym, I used a 10 lb. After being told at World Camp that the 10 lb kettlebells were for the kids camp, I used a 20 lb. I am now using the 25 lb, and sometimes the 30lb.
SQUAT>were when you went to the bathroom outside of a frat house at Auburn because the bathrooms were gross>>> Kris will brag on this on me. I can squat. He brags because I couldn't go down at all when I first arrived. We both wish he had a picture of me doing my first one.
WALL BALL>what my son plays with his hand and a tennis ball>>> I don't think he ever let me use the 6 lb, but if he did that is where I started. I am now full range of motion and reaching the target with a 10 lb. The reaching the target has just come about this summer. Every once in a while, I will use the 14 lb. When I do use the 14, the ball barely goes up.
DEADLIFT>what Jay Whiting, mortician friend, calls going to pick up a dead body>>>just PR 145 1 rep this past week.
PUSHPRESS>some people push and others press an elevator button>>>Other than push ups, these are the hardest for me. They really get me down on some days. I remember the first Fight Gone Bad not being able to do but 2 presses during the 3rd round with a 25 lb bar. Last week, I used a 35 lb bar and did around 25 total for the three rounds. This was the reason, I wanted to start logging in my WODs. I FINALLY felt like I accomplished something.
BENCH PRESS> I did know what this was>>>Last week, I 70/75/80 on 5/3/1 rep. Tried 85 a couple of times, and couldn't do it. I started at 45/50/55.
BURPEE>Was my grandmother's maiden name (no joke)>>>not much to say about these. I don't want to forget to sign in, come in late, or say I can't... Burpee time! Now that I have figured out the form of them, they are easier for me. Not easy! Need some speed on them. They slow me down!
BOX JUMPs> I started out jumping on two 45 lb plates. Now, I am on 15inch box. On work on your weakness day, I got 3 jumps on the 20 inch box. I have only being doing the 15 inch box for a month. I remember in November watching the girls do the 20 inch box, and then looking at the two plates in front of me. The tape recorder from that thought process would be priceless. I'm sure there was a good gosh and there is no way. Now after last week, I jumped up there three times! Love it!
I will have to write down my front squat , back squat, power clean, etc. tomorrow and go from there.
I completed broken down Angie with less than 30 seconds to spare. This was the week of the 4th of July. I cant remember if he gave us 25 or 30 minutes.
I did Isabel in 4:25 with 25lb sometime in June.
Last week did 202 on Fight Gone Bad. 10lb wall ball, 35 lb sdhp and pp, 15inch box. 12 more from a time in February. I was 25 lb pp and sdhp and 10 inch box then.
I started CrossFit on October 23, 2009. Back then, I didn't know that that date would forever be remembered by me. Kris, my coach, only had Monday Wednesday Friday 10am classes then.
